Batteries
APak
Batteries offers a line of Nickel Metal Hydride batteries
and chargers specifically made to achieve high performance
in remote control. Our hobby batteries are designed
and built with the same exacting requirements and materials
used in aerospace and other industry applications. Generic
3 pin connectors are used to mate with most common R/C
connectors, such as Futaba "J", Airtronics,
etc.
The
charging of Nickel Metal Hydride batteries is as important
as the battery assembly. APak Batteries offers a line
of automatic chargers
that allow trouble free operation.
Why
are our hobby batteries a must-have for high-performance
and trouble free operations? Although individual cells
can be purchased from hobby shops, the quality of these
packs is not guaranteed, nor is the performance. Excessive
heating of cells is the number one cause of early cell
death. Although cell manufacturers have designed robust
cells, these cells are intended to be welded into pack
assemblies by a no-heat capacitive discharge method.
Equally important is the charging method and charge
termination method.
APak
Batteries installs a thermally reactive resistor (Thermistor)
in each of our batteries which, when charged on an appropriate
charger, terminates charge at the optimum time. Our
batteries can be charged with the radio's original charger,
but will require much more time and, depending on the
charger, may
not indicate when charging is complete.
APak
can provide battery assemblies in 4-cell
packs, 5-cell packs,
6-cell packs, 8-cell
packs, or built to your specifications. Our NiMH system
